Then there is the French SNCF site (they translate into English). DB Bahn is a German source of information, and they are well-informed about the French rail system. Check them all out before you book.

Type in your starting point and end point, and these sites will tell you which trains to get and what times they are running so you can make the right connections. You can also make ticket reservations through these links.

Staying Overnight in Biarritz or Bayonne

If you are arriving in Biarritz on a late train or plane and cannot get a connection straight through to St. Jean, you will have to stay overnight in Biarritz or Bayonne. A popular tourist spot, Biarritz is a lovely place to relax, and there are lots of places to stay before going on to start the camino. It is vitally important that you book in advance when you do the camino in the busy season. Many pilgrims stay overnight in Bayonne as there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses right next to the station, making it easy to get up early and hop on the first train out to St. Jean Pied de Port.
